FAQ - Your questions about the AS5000
What does the AS5000 water filter system filter out of the tap water?
Each AS5000 water filter system from AQUASAFE filters out all unwanted pollutants from tap water to up to 98.2 %.
Chlorine, fluorides, heavy metals, sand, drug residues, arsenic, lime as well as viruses and bacteria and many other foreign substances are filtered out of the tap water.
High-quality filters and the finest membranes ensure the purest and crystal-clear water quality.
How much wastewater does the plant produce?
The AS5000, without an extra Eco pump, has a waste water ratio of approx. 1:8.
This means that for one litre of filtered water, about 8 litres of wastewater are produced.
This ratio can be optimised to 1:4 if an additional Eco pump is used.
Or you can choose a direct flow system, such as the AS5000FF or AS-X, which have an effluent ratio of about 1:2.
Does the AS5000 require a power connection?
No. The AS5000 water filter units with tank are operated with the in-house 3 bar water pressure and therefore do not require an electricity connection.
Can I retrofit a 5-stage AS5000?
Naturally! At any time you have the option of upgrading or retrofitting the AS5000 with a sixth stage (vital filter) or seventh stage (active filter).

How long does a water filter system last?
10 years and longer are not uncommon. Wearing parts, such as the water tank, can break after 5 years.
Nevertheless, the AQUASAFE water filter systems usually last up to 10 years and can also be used for longer.
How often do I have to change the filters?
The pre-filters and the additional filters are replaced every 6 months.
The reverse osmosis membrane should be replaced every 24 months.

The heart of the AS5000
This 190 litres (50 GPD) osmosis membrane ensures perfect filtration of the water and removes up to 98.2% of any remaining foreign matter in the water.
In membrane filtration, your tap water is pressed through a membrane with hyperfine pores, whereby a molecular separation process takes place.
The water molecules can pass through the membrane, while the dissolved substances such as salts, lime, nitrate, heavy metals, organic compounds, pesticides and many other molecular compounds are retained by 90 to 99%.
