Disinfectant

It prevents the formation of germs and biofilms in the filter system, the tank, the hoses and also the water tap. Especially if the water filter has not been used for a long time, disinfection should be performed. This eliminates unwanted germs and pathogens.

3 months from the date of purchase. If the disinfectant bag is activated, then it has up to 7 days of effectiveness and can therefore also be used for several water filter systems.

We recommend regular disinfection every 3-6 months. This is usually carried out by our customers in conjunction with a filter change. If the water filter system has not been used for a longer period of time, for example due to a longer vacation, then the filter system should be disinfected in any case to prevent germ formation in the filter system.

The carbon filters would filter out the disinfectant and thus neutralize it. Disinfection would then already be over in the second pre-filter housing. So that this does not happen and the disinfectant can spread everywhere, we remove/bridge all the carbon filters.

To ensure that the gaseous disinfectant is distributed throughout the water filter, we recommend opening the water tap several times a day for approx. 5 minutes over a period of 24 hours. This is the only way to ensure effective and thorough cleaning.
